Aishwarya Rai Lights Up Longines Royal Ascot 2009
Back in early part of June, i mentioned about Aishwarya Rai going to United Kingdom to be a part of The Royal Ascot Race Event at Ascot, United Kingdom. This race is a great British occasion and takes place every single year. Throughout the world, Royal Ascot is held to be one of the most prestigious sporting events, combining tradition and performance for the last 300 years. This year around, Royal Ascot draws over 300,000 visitors during the week.
Alright, so how did Aishwarya Rai manage to get there? Well, The Swiss watchmaker, Longines, for the third consecutive year, is the official timekeeper for the racing atRoyal Ascot. Aishwarya Rai has been brand ambassador for Longines for last ten years now! So why not? Besides, They call her as the “Uncontested Bollywood Star” and now she is globally recognized as Hollywood actress too. So as i said, Why Not?
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan lit up the racecourse with her radiant presence. (Pretty much as we always expected). In between interviews and photo sessions, Ash managed to find time to admire the beautiful creations modeled in the Royal Ascot Fashion Show. She also manage to watch some racing in the afternoon. In the evening, guests converged on the magnificent Farnham Castle for a gala dinner that was as elegant as it was typically English and during which Aishwarya Rai Bachchan revealed to the guests and the press three new ladies models from The Longines Master Collection. It was a great masterpieces of watches. Even Aishwarya herself had some trouble choosing her favorite! Of course i won’t explain the Master Collection or what those three models were because i myself don’t know much about it yet.. So….You will have to look it up yourself. :p
Ahh.. I almost forgot. Royal Ascot Race is also known for celebrities and V.I.P.’s wearing big beautiful creative hats to the occasion. Aishwarya was pretty scared as to what hat will she be wearing to the occasion. Well, it was lovely hat and am sure she wasn’t disappointed. To me, she looked very very gorgeous in that hat. At the event Aishwarya Rai said “Royal Ascot is absolutely unique, an elegant, quintessentially British occasion. I am very happy to have been invited here by Longines”. I really wished i could have seen Ash in person that day. But Alas!

Next probably i will try to put up the magazine scans of Aishwarya Rai’s photoshoot for the famous magazine called “Verve“. She was the cover girl for the June issue of the magazine. The title of the magazine read “The Power Issue” which showcases India’s 50 most influential women and of course Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had to be a part of it
